LGBTQ Town Hall: Honoring Community Members Lost with Action

Today, from 2-4pm, at Diversity Richmond (1407 Sherwood Avenue, Richmond VA), there will be an LGBTQ Town Hall as part of the Honor Them With Action national campaign to honor the victims of the June 12th 2016 PULSE nightclub shooting and the 12 transwomen who have been taken from us by murder since January. Speakers will include community members and representatives of local police departments.

Speakers will include: Kayla Hicks, director of African American and Community Outreach for the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence; Dawn M. Adams, candidate for Virginia House District 68; Trenton Morris, the legislative chair for GLSEN Richmond; Debra Rodman, professor at Randolph Macon and consultant on cases for LGBTQ asylum seekers; Erykah Christian, an African American trans woman and core volunteer for the Nationz Foundation; Angel Ramirez, a Latino transman and veteran; James Milner, president of VA Pride; Captain Linda Toney of the Henrico Police Department; Corporal Elliott Anderson of the Chesterfield Police Department; and Captains Latham and Duke of the Henrico Sheriff's Office.
